How to read this tool

This tool connects your selected species with the reviewed requirements in its animal record. Land area and water area are separate outputs, while shelter, fence grade and temperature identify other items to check before building. A population count is an input to a calculation; it is not evidence that every requirement grows at the same rate.

Results are published only when the required fields and the calculation rule have supporting sources. The tool does not multiply a single-animal measurement by the number of animals, assume a shelter ratio, or infer a temperature from the species name. When the selected population needs a rule that has not been reviewed, the complete result remains “Data being verified.”

A biome selection is checked against recorded biome references rather than real-world geography. Unknown water needs are not interpreted as no water, and unknown fence grades are not treated as unrestricted barriers. Treat the result as a checklist to compare with the current game, not a guarantee that a particular layout will work.

The share link stores the chosen inputs. It does not freeze the data version or create a verified result. Revisit the linked animal record and its source after a data update, especially before changing the population or combining species.

Frequently asked questions

How big should a habitat be?

Use a sourced requirement for the selected species and population. This tool displays “Data being verified” when an area value or population rule is missing.

What biome does each animal need?

Biome references must come from the reviewed animal data. Unknown references remain unresolved and are not inferred from where an animal lives in the real world.

What temperature do I set?

Use the reviewed minimum and maximum temperatures in the species record. A missing bound prevents this tool from suggesting a temperature.

Do animals need water?

Water requirements are checked per record. An unknown value does not mean water is unnecessary.

Can I share the result?

The planning link stores species, count and biome inputs. Results remain dependent on the current reviewed data.
